VIOLAINE ULMER
These small statuettes, called Robes Armures, are individually handmade at the Violaine Ulmer workshop in the south of France. At the same time very elaborated, very ornamented, and staid, they evoke a design close to haute couture and architecture. Made from french porcelain, then fired at 1280° C, unglazed to keep the satin touch of the biscuit, they are mounted on a steel base.

CHRISTIAN RATHBONE
47x28in
It's newly woven in the Turkish tradition, referencing a Turkish word meaning wheat. Weavers use a special technique to produce raised wheat reliefs typically used in these buğdaylı kilims. In addition, this kilim is woven with finer spun wool than my standard production, giving it a thinner profile while allowing the weaver to make more intricate patterns and graceful curves.
