NIWAKI
Ignore the cowboy jokes – holsters are great. They keep tools close to hand, stop them ending up on the compost heap, and save your pockets.
Chunky 3.5mm leather with copper rivets and hand stitched with double ply waxed thread. Starts off clean and pale but soon matures to a nice dark rich tone.
Fits Taira, Okatsune, Sentei and Higurashi Garden Scissors – in short, all of them, although the smaller scissors sit deeper, and the larger ones slightly prouder.
Our leather products can come with the odd scuff or natural blemish - that’s part of the material and in no way affects the quality.

Traditional drop forged scissors for the garden and home, perfect for ikebana, cut flowers, dead-heading, a bit of bonsai and light pruning. Hard wearing carbon steel that holds its edge and sharpens up well.
Hold with your index finger outside the handle, for flexible, comfy use. Use the base of the blades for woody cuts.
NIWAKI
Drop forged carbon steel snips for delicate pruning, cut flowers, house plants, bonsai and other precise work.
Slender blades get you in - and out - of tight spots without damaging what’s around you.
Great around the house for very fine cutting and craft work.

The short, broad blades of these ikenobo scissors are strong enough for woody cuts in hard stems. They take a bit of getting used to, but if the discipline of ikebana is something you aspire to, it’s well worth it.
These would be inpractical as every day pruners in the garden, but for deliberate, considered cuts (with long pauses inbetween for drammatic effect) there’s nothing quite like them.
Keep clean with a Clean Mate, and oil after use with Camellia Oil
NIWAKI
Great value drop-forged carbon steel secateurs, with a nice soft spring action and the simple lock catch at the bottom - learn to open the catch with your little finger.
An excellent introduction to the world of Japanese secateurs, but not as hard wearing as our GR Pro range. Perfect for light garden pruning - if you’re planning all day binges, take a look at the GR Pros for something with a bit more clout.

If you’re into Bonsai, you’ll love these Bonsai Scissors: long, thin and strong, for getting in (and out) of tricky spots. Lovely balance, nice and light. As well as bonsai, try them in the garden and greenhouse for detailed pruning work, or craft work in the home.
